Donna Dixon Schafer, 58, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1952 to the late Joe and Mary Dixon.
She was a communicant of St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a volunteer for Hospice Savannah.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Schafer, of Savannah, her son, Christopher Rappe his fiance' Emily Hernandez, of Savannah, her daughter, Joy R. John Strickland, of Savannah, two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Claire, her sister and brother-in-law, Susie Dixon Sanderlin and Michael Sanderlin, of Savannah, two special nieces, Jennifer Sanderlin Hall, and Renee Sanderlin Theron, two great-nieces and one great-nephew, and many friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
A Memorial Service to honor her life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made the American Diabetes Association or Hospice Savannah.
